How is my personal information used?
Our primary goal in gathering your personal information is to provide you with a personalized experience and send you prizes as you qualify. Currently we do not customize the content you see based on any information you have provided, but we eventually intend to do so. Essentially, we will compare your profile with other member profiles and, based on their interests, we will make predictions about your interests. Based on these predictions, you may see specialized content, including advertising banners. Advertisers will never have direct access to any of your personal identification information.
If you are a member, we will send you e-mail notices about products, companies, and events that we think might interest you. If you do not want to receive these messages, simply tell us that when you give us your personal information. Or, you can easily edit your flopalongs.com Profile to indicate that you no longer want to receive these messages. After you log in, just click on "My Account". This will send you into the pages where you can review and modify your membership information and profile.
SPECIAL NOTE TO NON-MEMBER CUSTOMERS
If you are a customer and choose not to become a member, we only collect personal information that is essential to fulfilling your order and notifying you of your order status. Additionally, you will automatically be added to our periodic shop email newsletter and catalog mailing lists. If you want us to remove you from these lists, you have two ways to do this: 1.) When you receive your first email newsletter, you can opt-out of future mailings from us by following the opt-out instructions in the newsletter (this is to opt out of the email newsletter only). 2.) You can contact us at info@flopalongs.com. Your message should state that you do not want to receive any emails or any catalogs from flopalongs.com
We also may match information obtained from cookies with data provided by you. This allows us to analyze this data both in the aggregate and in connection with individual users. This information lets us tailor our services to your interests. We also provide the analysis of our users (as a group) to prospective partners, advertisers, and other third parties. We do this so that our advertisers and us understand your needs and interests better, which allows us keep bringing you cool stuff free of charge.
